Here in Lahore, it is common saying “ Machi kahanee to Kasur Jaoo” means if you want to eat fish , visit    Kasur.     One week end I made minds of my friends to visit Kasur.

In end of November 2011, at week end,  I made their mind to visit Kasur and taste the famous Fish. With little hastate all agreed.

Kasur is one of oldest cities of Pakistan, Legend said Kasur founded by Son of Ram Kasuo. It seems to be not wrong. Outside of current city there is 20 meter high mound still show possible truth about this story.  This mound shows sign of many layers of ash, means city was fall many times against invaded armies.

When we reached Kasur city. After asking from locals we got information only famous fish fryer at Kasur is inside the bazaar of Kasur city. Kasur main bazaar once main center of city, many houses converted to shops, but still pre partions style houses exist.   We start moving in narrow streets of Bazar.  Finally we reach the shop.  It is fantastic  big shop.  When we order for fish, they told me we have to wait at least 1.5 hour.  We covered at least one hour distance so we decided so.

Fish fryer where good looking and have similar faces. When we discuss them, they told us that they were brothers and cousins, and it is their fourth generation who do the same business. It means they are doing frish fryer business before the part ion or form British era.

Most of the people around table are from Lahore who came to eat fish like us.

When they served us fish, taste was extremely good. And Price is also economical.

Kasur is also famous for Baba bullah shah. It was also said that Wasis Shah also lived some time here, latter he moved Malka Hanse where he wrote his famous “Heer rahjah”. Grave of Warish Shah’s spiritual teacher still exit in old graveyard of Kasur.

After that we decided to visit Famous shrine of Baba Bulleh Shah. I  saeen sit there and song the beautiful  kafi of bullah shah .” Kee janah main koon”.
